Workplace Violence and Active-Threat Response

This timely training addresses the need for all employees to understand and maintain “situational awareness” as it relates to active safety threats and proper decision making. The class explores the developmental stages of an active shooter and the related warning signs to look for and will provide insight into the physiological changes some people experience during an active threat situation and the importance of training and preparation.

Best response-practice recommendations are detailed with an overview of the Run-Hide-Fight recommendations developed by the Department of Homeland Security and what a citizen can expect during the law enforcement response.

This 1.5 hour foundational awareness training is geared more towards non-policing staff and actual policing tactics are not discussed. The training further guides the attendees in how to prepare for the law enforcement response to not inhibit the officers' tactics.
